SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18

Recognizing the service of all physicians in West Virginia by designating February 21 as "White Coat Day".

Whereas, West Virginia's three thousand physicians practice around the clock to care for patients of all ages in life- threatening situations throughout our state; and
Whereas, Both our active and retired physicians donate their time generously to provide medical services to our uninsured citizens at free clinics in rural and urban communities all across West Virginia; and
Whereas, Our physicians dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of West Virginians by educating our citizens through the promotion of public health awareness on a variety of subjects; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of all physicians in West Virginia and hereby requests that February 21 be designated as "White Coat Day"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the appropriate officials of the West Virginia Medical Association.
